Manager, Human Factors

The leading international research and consulting firm on fatigue risk management in 24/7 shiftwork operations, CIRCDADIAN, seeks an energetic self-starter to join our team as the lead in the development of a new Human Factors program area to complement CIRCADIAN’s current scheduling, staffing, training and risk management services. Ideally, the candidate would be well versed in the methods of job and cognitive task analyses as these methods relate to the optimization of workforce scheduling in 24/7 operations. The candidate would also possess user-centered product design skills. We looking for an individual able to contribute to a team developing forensic analyses of transportation and industrial human error accidents, and help to develop empirically based opinions regarding the likelihood of human error, sleep deprivation, sleep disorders and/or human fatigue as a contributory factor to human error incidents.

Applicants must have at least an M.S. or its equivalent in Human Factors Engineering or Engineering Psychology with emphasis on human factors, human systems integration, social psychology, neuroscience, or related technical field. The ideal candidates will have an excellent aptitude for statistical analyses, strong and effective oral and writing presentation skills and creative problem solving ability. We are looking for self-starters interested in business development and who are able to work with accuracy under pressure and/or firm deadlines.

There will be significant opportunities to co-author scientific articles and publications taking advantage of one of the largest databases in the world on shiftworker health, safety and performance. In addition, we provide an opportunity to learn hands on about our business model, technology and consulting methodology and develop on-going relationships with Fortune 500 companies to aid in the delivery of products and services aimed at keeping companies and their employees safe, healthy and productive in very demanding 24/7 occupations.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of our staff in our headquarters office (located in the Boston area near Rt. 128 and I-93), including the CEO and founder, a former Harvard Professor.
